Your explanations make it so much easier to understand what's required to get into the correct state. No lack of confidence, no technical swing thoughts — it feels as though I'm not thinking at all. I shot a new personal best 1 under on a 7,450-yard Championship Links.
I am currently a +1 handicap golfer; an extremely analytical person, who in golf has always got deeply bogged down with the technical aspects of the golf swing. That statement is probably a fair assessment of where I believe I was, up until starting your programme. I'm not saying that I have completely stopped analyzing every facet of the game yet; that would be a total lie, as I analyze near enough everything in my life. A throw back from serving in the military for 20+ years — but there has been some signs of real improvement to date.
My journey into golf came rather late in life (I was 25) during military service. The rigours and demands of military training and playing soccer were beginning to take their toll on the body, so I turned to golf. From the very first moment of playing the game I was hooked. I started to read countless instructional publications and attempted to put into practice what I had read or viewed. I very quickly saw a dramatic improvement, probably due to good hand-eye coordination and the determination to progress — but this is really when all the problems started to begin.
All I could think about was golf — how and what did I need to know to get better, could I get even better, who could provide me with the direction, when could I practice, when could I get another round in. It was at this early point that I decided I wanted to play this game at the highest level I could. The military provided a good income, the ability to seek regular tuition, and I had the desire, dedication, and commitment to succeed. But something was always holding me back. I was unable to correctly identify what until now.
Through the internet, I found that your programme came across as the most appealing and enlightening. Guaranteeing to lead you along a pathway of instruction rather than providing you with the principle-based approach of so many others on the market. I have tried these approaches in the past (Gallwey, Rotella, etc.) but have always found it too difficult to comprehend, so I was a little sceptical at first. But I had nothing to lose.
Your explanations and exercises make it so much easier to understand what is required to get you into the correct state; once there everything seems so much simpler. No lack of confidence, no technical swing thoughts beforehand — in fact it feels as though I'm not thinking at all.
Only the other day, playing a casual round with my son, I experienced a little of what is possible. I was 3 under thru 14 on route to a new best score with the swing change, but let my focus drift on the 15th tee. My ball ended up in the deep rough and I carded a double bogey. However, on the very next tee and remaining holes, I refocused and put back into practice what I had learnt thus far. I walked off the course with a score of 1 under (71 on our Championship Links Course of 7,450 yards, Par 72, slope rating 74). A new personal best, and all with the new swing.
Before starting your programme this would not have been possible. My aspiration to play on the tour (UK EuroPro or Challenge Tour) before looking at the Senior Tour is feeling more like a reality than a pipe dream. I can't thank you enough.
When I got the material I was a 14 handicapper and got down to an 8. I don't have the blow-up holes of the past. I'm so excited about my game now.
First year some improvement, second year greatly improved.
I set a goal to shoot even par and got it done last year. This year I decided to get into your coaching program hard and will set and meet new goals.
I don't have the blow-up holes of the past. I use the breathing exercise on the course. Now I am target concentrated — which I know is at the heart of your teaching.
When I got the material I was a 14 handicapper and got down to an 8. I'm so excited about my game now. Thanks a bunch.
I had no meltdowns or huge blow-up holes like many of my competitors. By following your approach to playing I was able to play effortless and enjoyable golf.
A month ago, I competed in our city amateur championship and was so despondent with my performance, I contemplated giving up completely. I had the shanks, the yips, and the skulls. I hit them thin, I hit them fat. I drove it left and right. I was in tears by the 12th hole.
I googled mental game golf and was introduced to the Peak State Golf coaching. I saw an immediate improvement following the first few lessons — went from shooting mid-80s to breaking 80 regularly — so I continued on into the advanced lessons. I listen to one of the audio files every day on the drive to the golf course. I've read and re-read the written material and each time glean some new tidbit that helps my mental game.
Today was the final day of the 3-day Senior Women's Provincial Championship and I am proud to announce, I came in 3rd and qualified for the provincial team that will represent the province of Saskatchewan at the Canadian Royale National Senior Women's Golf Championship. Getting on the team was my goal — and I did it.
Furthermore, I had no meltdowns or huge blow-up holes like many of my competitors. By following your approach to playing I was able to play effortless and enjoyable golf. I have a wondrous sense of accomplishment and a new-found love for the game. Thank you so much for putting this training program together — I couldn't have done it without your guidance.
I just took one thought out on the course with me yesterday. Won the medal with a 0.1 handicap cut. I was properly mentally hooked onto my targets — which felt lovely.
Very quick update. I just took one thought out on the course with me yesterday and it was something from the first part of your coaching course. Had two poor holes with penalty shots from two loose shots but putting for birdies the rest of the time.
Won the medal with a 0.1 handicap cut. I can get caught up with technical stuff in my swing and that one thought reminded me what I was really there for. I was properly mentally hooked onto my targets — which felt lovely.
And that is a good start. So thank you. About to do the elite upgrade now I have a moment.
I have always loved the game, but I now feel so blessed that I have a mental strategy and approach that I can use forever.
A funny story — a buddy I was playing with mentioned that I "got all the breaks today". On a hole where I hit a wedge over a bunker that kicked toward the hole and stopped tight, he said, "another lucky bounce." I looked at him and said without hesitation, "It wasn't a lucky bounce. I visualised the shot in my mind and hit the ball exactly where I wanted to. I knew it would funnel right to the hole."
He said something like, "wow, alright then." It was a pretty funny moment. But I knew I had the shot because I hit so many good shots in my mind prior to getting to the course.
Anyway, I have always loved the game, but I now feel so blessed that I have a mental strategy and approach that I can use forever.
I have played golf for over 30 years. Your knowledge and teaching has transformed my approach to the game and helped rejuvenate my love for this wonderful game.
Just had to write again — you have had an amazing impact on my game, and in particular my level of enjoyment has soared. I am more relaxed and not so anxious or up tight. I feel free to enjoy my golf so much more.
Even when I play a bad shot or a few bad holes I don't get all uptight. I relax and just focus on the shots and holes ahead and continue to try my best.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. You have changed my golfing life. I have played golf for over 30 years, but your knowledge and teaching has transformed my approach to the game and helped rejuvenate my love for this wonderful game.
