Sometimes the golfer who beats you isn't always another golfer.
It's you.
So why do 85% of all golfers never do anything about it?
Because until now, no one has ever given you a clear, practical system to train it. To shoot lower scores and play your best when it matters most.
You know the feeling. The round is going well, something's on the line — and a different golfer shows up. One you didn't invite.
Putts you'd make in practice with your eyes closed become three-footers that feel like they're breaking six ways.
Nerves, tension, self-consciousness. The one shot everyone's watching is never the one you want to be thinking about.
A bad stretch becomes a bad month. You start managing your game around your doubts instead of your ability.
You were right there. Then you weren't. Three holes you can barely remember and a scorecard that doesn't reflect the golfer who teed off.
The five most common golf mental game problems: how to perform under pressure in golf, how to stop first tee nerves, how to build putting confidence, how to recover from a golf slump, and how to maintain concentration for 18 holes.
Peak State Golf is the first mental game coaching process built specifically to train the mental skills that determine how you perform when it counts. Not theory. Not generic mindset advice. A structured, progressive coaching system — the same principles that separate a +5 index from a scratch player. A 3 handicap from a 10. Mapped into a format you can actually use.
18 core mental skills. Every one mapped, explained, and trainable. Most golfers have never even named what's costing them shots — this makes it visible.
You rate your mental performance after every round. Not your swing. Your mind. Over time, the patterns become undeniable — and so does the improvement.
Your mental game has a handicap too. This tracks it. Watches it drop.
For over a hundred years the physical game has had practical, step by step coaching lessons. Now the mental game has one too.
Wade Pearse didn't stumble into golf psychology. He spent years studying and applying cutting edge peak performance strategies. Ruthlessly discarding anything that didn't produce verifiable, repeatable improvement.
After years competing and coaching, one thing kept showing up — players with a great game didn't score in ways that matched their skill. Not because their swing broke down. Because their mind did. At the exact moment it mattered most.
He spent 16 years developing the concepts, frameworks, and systems that became Peak State Golf. Not sourced from existing models. Built from the ground up, shaped by thousands of hours on the course and in the coaching room.
This isn't a repackaged sports psychology textbook. It's original work — from someone who refused to accept that the mental game had to remain the most important untrained skill in golf.
These aren't beginners discovering the mental game for the first time. These are capable golfers who finally found a system that matched how seriously they take their game.
Your explanations make it so much easier to understand what's required to get into the correct state. No lack of confidence, no technical swing thoughts — it feels as though I'm not thinking at all. I shot a new personal best 1 under on a 7,450-yard Championship Links.
I am currently a +1 handicap golfer; an extremely analytical person, who in golf has always got deeply bogged down with the technical aspects of the golf swing. That statement is probably a fair assessment of where I believe I was, up until starting your programme. I'm not saying that I have completely stopped analyzing every facet of the game yet; that would be a total lie, as I analyze near enough everything in my life. A throw back from serving in the military for 20+ years — but there has been some signs of real improvement to date.
My journey into golf came rather late in life (I was 25) during military service. The rigours and demands of military training and playing soccer were beginning to take their toll on the body, so I turned to golf. From the very first moment of playing the game I was hooked.
Your explanations and exercises make it so much easier to understand what is required to get you into the correct state; once there everything seems so much simpler. No lack of confidence, no technical swing thoughts beforehand — in fact it feels as though I'm not thinking at all.
Only the other day, playing a casual round with my son, I experienced a little of what is possible. I was 3 under thru 14 on route to a new best score with the swing change, but let my focus drift on the 15th tee. My ball ended up in the deep rough and I carded a double bogey. However, on the very next tee and remaining holes, I refocused and put back into practice what I had learnt thus far. I walked off the course with a score of 1 under (71 on our Championship Links Course of 7,450 yards, Par 72, slope rating 74). A new personal best, and all with the new swing.
Before starting your programme this would not have been possible. My aspiration to play on the tour (UK EuroPro or Challenge Tour) before looking at the Senior Tour is feeling more like a reality than a pipe dream. I can't thank you enough.
When I got the material I was a 14 handicapper and got down to an 8. I don't have the blow-up holes of the past. I'm so excited about my game now.
First year some improvement, second year greatly improved.
I set a goal to shoot even par and got it done last year. This year I decided to get into your coaching program hard and will set and meet new goals.
I don't have the blow-up holes of the past. I use the breathing exercise on the course. Now I am target concentrated — which I know is at the heart of your teaching.
When I got the material I was a 14 handicapper and got down to an 8. I'm so excited about my game now. Thanks a bunch.
I had no meltdowns or huge blow-up holes like many of my competitors. By following your approach to playing I was able to play effortless and enjoyable golf.
A month ago, I competed in our city amateur championship and was so despondent with my performance, I contemplated giving up completely. I had the shanks, the yips, and the skulls. I hit them thin, I hit them fat. I drove it left and right. I was in tears by the 12th hole.
I googled mental game golf and was introduced to the Peak State Golf coaching. I saw an immediate improvement following the first few lessons — went from shooting mid-80s to breaking 80 regularly — so I continued on into the advanced lessons.
Today was the final day of the 3-day Senior Women's Provincial Championship and I am proud to announce, I came in 3rd and qualified for the provincial team that will represent the province of Saskatchewan at the Canadian Royale National Senior Women's Golf Championship. Getting on the team was my goal — and I did it.
Furthermore, I had no meltdowns or huge blow-up holes like many of my competitors. By following your approach to playing I was able to play effortless and enjoyable golf. I have a wondrous sense of accomplishment and a new-found love for the game. Thank you so much for putting this training program together — I couldn't have done it without your guidance.
The Mental Game Starter — a five-part coaching series that shows you exactly what's costing you shots and why. No commitment. Just clarity.
The Mental Game Wheel. 18 skills mapped and coached. Track your progress. Build the foundation your physical game has been sitting on without knowing it.
The Mental Game Scorecard. Rate your mind after every round. Track every skill across every competitive context. This is where serious golfers go to close the gap permanently.
Every decent golfer knows it. Few have ever had a real system to do anything about it.
Until now.
Peak State Golf is a structured golf mental game training system addressing the five most common mental performance problems in golf: inability to perform under pressure, first tee nerves, putting confidence, golf slump recovery, and loss of concentration during a round. Built by Wade Pearse — golf mental performance coach, 26 to 3 handicap, no physical lessons.
